Commitment to Pitcher Privacy

We build tools to make baseball and softball athletes better. We do not sell your personal data, nor do we sell your pitch analytics to data brokers or third-party advertisers.

1. Overview

Mound Power ("we", "us", or "our") develops the Mound Power pressure-sensing pitching plate and the companion mobile application for iOS and Android. This Privacy Policy outlines our data handling practices when you use our website, mobile application, hardware products, and associated cloud services.

2. Information We Collect

To provide accurate pitching telemetry and video analysis, we collect the following categories of information:

A. Account & Profile Information

When creating an account or signing in, we collect your name, email address, user role (pitcher, coach, parent, or organization administrator), and profile preferences. Authentication is securely managed through our backend infrastructure.

B. Pitch Telemetry & Video Recordings

When you conduct a bullpen session:

  • Video Recordings: Video captured with your mobile camera during pitching sessions is stored securely in encrypted cloud storage to enable frame-by-frame mechanical analysis.
  • Raw Force Sensor Data: High-frequency force samples received from the Mound plate over Bluetooth Low Energy are encoded and stored as secure binary blobs.
  • Computed Aggregate Metrics: Key performance indicators calculated from the sensor data (such as peak drive force, time to peak impulse, and rate of force development) are stored in your session history.

C. Hardware & Bluetooth Identifiers

To facilitate seamless Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) pairing and accurate calibration, we collect the hardware serial number, firmware revision, and factory sensor calibration constants directly from your Mound plate at record time.

D. Crash Reports & Diagnostic Telemetry

We collect anonymized crash telemetry (via Sentry) and product usage events (via PostHog) to resolve software bugs and optimize application performance. We never log video content or biometric force streams to diagnostic third-party providers.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To display synchronized force curves and slow-motion video in the mobile application.
  • To generate historical bullpen progression trends and athlete velocity reports.
  • To provide customer support, firmware updates, and hardware troubleshooting.
  • To maintain platform security, detect fraudulent access, and prevent unauthorized service disruption.

4. Data Storage & Third-Party Services

We rely on vetted infrastructure providers to operate the service:

  • Database & Storage: Hosted on Supabase (PostgreSQL with Row Level Security and encrypted object storage).
  • Error Tracking: Sentry for application crash monitoring.
  • Product Analytics: PostHog for privacy-preserving user interaction metrics.
  • Payment Processing: Shopify merchant platform handles all hardware e-commerce transactions under PCI-DSS Level 1 certification.

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with external parties for targeted marketing.

5. Your Rights & Data Deletion

You retain complete ownership of your pitch videos and performance data. In accordance with Apple App Store guidelines, GDPR, and CCPA:

  • Access & Export: You may request an export of your session logs and pitch records at any time.
  • Account & Data Deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated pitch videos, sensor records, and profile details. Submit a request to support@moundpower.com with the subject line Data Deletion Request, or see our Data Deletion Guide. We process all deletion requests within 30 days.

6. Youth Athletes & Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Mound Power is designed for use by athletic programs, coaches, guardians, and youth players. Users under 13 years of age may only use the mobile application with the consent and oversight of a parent, legal guardian, or authorized team coach. If we discover that personal data of a minor under 13 was submitted without verified guardian consent, we will promptly delete that data.

7. Policy Changes & Contact

We may update this policy periodically to reflect hardware features or regulatory changes. The latest revision date will always be indicated at the top of this page.
